CHANDLER | An individual or individuals are sought out by agents for the protection of wildlife in the Gaspé to be abandoned on the side of the road a hockey bag containing the carcass of a white-Tailed deer, hunted in the forbidden period.
It is a citizen who found the old bag filled with the head, paws and skin of a deer along the path, located off route 132 in Chandler, in the Gaspé peninsula. He immediately alerted the wildlife officers.
The deer has been shot and killed, while the period of hunting is not permitted at this stage of the year.

The case of hunting prohibited in winter are very rare in this sector, according to Richard Hamel for the protection of wildlife in the Bas-Saint-Laurent, the Gaspé and the Îles-de-la-Madeleine.
The assumption is that the beast has been slaughtered illegally, has been brought back in a place to sample the meat and that it was disposed of the remains in an old bag on the side of the road.
“No one is left with the bag below arm. It is a vehicle which went to lead it on the edge of the road, so we request information on the citizens of the sector”, said Richard Hamel. He adds that a person who would be guilty in this story would not have a criminal record, what people think, sometimes wrongly, some people who are reluctant to give clues or to denounce someone.
A hunter convicted of hunting at the time prohibited is exposed to at least 1825 $ fines plus costs and the loss of his license for two years. The accomplices can be charged with the same offence. The hockey bag with the carcass has been abandoned on the edge of the path McGrath in Chandler West, on the road leading to the Pavages Beau Bassin.
