THREE-RIVERS – Réjean Héon, 47-year-old, who has admitted his guilt to charges of fondling a young girl, was sentenced Wednesday to eight months in prison in the palais de justice de Trois-Rivières.

Justice Jacques Trudel has noted that the actions had been many.

The victim was attacked between 1988 and 1993 when she was aged 11 to 15 years.

Even if they are not at a high level in the scale of gravity, the touching was committed over several years and under the physical stress.

The judge also took account of the fact that the accused had admitted his guilt, avoiding a trial. In addition, Réjean Héon has no previous criminal record, he has always worked and, most importantly, there has been no recurrence.

The judge noted that Réjean Héon was a young adult of 18 years of age at the beginning of the assault. There was no sexual deviance, but rather an immature sexual.

The judge also recalled the serious consequences for the victim. Its relations have been marred by the actions of the accused, in particular those with his children and his spouse.

Last January, the victim of Réjean Héon had told the court the scars left by the assault that she experienced.

Now aged 40, she had explained to have lived with the weight of a heavy backpack on the shoulders, filled with guilt.

It is said that this heavy weight lighter since she has been in therapy and that she has denounced her assailant. On Wednesday, she was said to be relieved to see that the judge has believed and has taken into consideration what she told him.

She wants to encourage other victims to report their abuser.

The touching began in 1988, while the victim was just 11 years old.

Réjean Héon, it would have first touched her breasts over her sweater and then, over a period of months, he would have asked her to masturbate him, then he would have tried to have full sexual intercourse with the girl, but she would be defended and would have pushed back.

Réjean Héon has admitted his guilt last September, avoiding a trial.
