The government of the canadian province of British Columbia on Friday announced its participation in a feasibility study of a proposed high-speed train between Vancouver and Seattle, in the u.s. State neighbor Washington.

This TGV will link Vancouver and Seattle, a distance of 230 kilometers, in one hour rather than three at this time, said John Horgan, Premier of British Columbia.

The province will provide 300 000 canadian dollars for this study, said Mr. Horgan after an interview with the governor of the State of Washington, Jay Inslee.

The legislative assembly of the State of Washington was approved last week a sum of $ 1.2 million for the same feasibility study, says a press release from the government of British Columbia.

The State of Washington estimated that a project of TGV between the two cities in the Pacific could lead to the creation of 200,000 jobs in Canada, and the United States, and several billion dollars of economic impact.
