Of the inspectors who visited the Store Cart and its owner have had quite a scare as they saw a rat living in the basement of the trade, to the point where they could not withhold a cry of fear.

This is what emerges from a report of the Department of food inspection of the City of Montreal written by two inspectors in February 2016 after the visit of commerce located at avenue De Charette, in Montreal.

But already in may 2016, an inspector had felt “a very strong smell of dead rat” from its entry in the trade.

The situation, however, was much worse at this time in the basement. In addition to the strong smell of urine that permeated the places, the ground was strewn with rodent droppings.

Objects helter-skelter

The real surprise was, however, occurred a few months earlier, during another inspection, at the time of take a look in a storage room in the basement. The inspectors, accompanied by the owner, are then dropped face-to-face with a rat alive and well.

The trade has thus been sentenced to several fines in December for a total of 1950 $.

The owner of the trade of the store has assured the Newspaper that it had conducted a major cleaning of its premises, among others, to find where the rodents are entering.

The Newspaper has not been able to ascertain these facts in person, but the last report of the inspectors, dated November, note an improvement of the situation in the Store Cart.
