LAVAL | The Service de police de Laval has proceeded to the arrest of a 21 year-old man in connection with a fatal accident that occurred last spring, in Laval.

Simon Lefebvre was arrested Wednesday morning. He appeared on the same day at the palace of justice in Laval and has been released with several conditions, including not to drive or consume alcohol. The man faces several charges including: dangerous driving causing death, criminal negligence causing death and driving with impaired abilities.
May 4, 2017, around 3 pm, the suspect was travelling at a very high speed on the boulevard des Laurentides. At the intersection of the rue Grenon, it crashed into a first car and a second car coming out of a parking lot. The passenger who was in the vehicle driven by Mr. Lefebvre died at the scene and the driver of the first vehicle struck was seriously injured.
