Drake king of streaming, More Life beats a new record
With his latest project More Life, Canadian rapper Drake has just broken a new record, becoming the undisputed king of streaming.
Indestructible! The buzz around More Life was great. Album, mixtape, playlist or simple project, the last baby of Drake did not fail to make speak everywhere. Particularly with his fans who have heard about it for a while and are dying of impatience to know more. Available since March 18, More Life has marked the musical landscape as soon as it is released. Thus, as revealed in the magazine Billboard , More Life generated no less than 600 million listenings in streaming the week of its release. A real record (which will be hard to beat, let’s be honest).
Last week, the combined listening of the different songs of More Life represented more than a billion streams . Specifically, 1.07 billion! And while Drake’s biggest competitor these days on streaming is called Ed Sheeran (whose album ÷ is a cardboard), it now seems obvious that Drake is the king of this listening system. But not only ! Rihanna’s ex-boyfriend is now one of the few artists who can sell more than a million albums the week of their releases and make “sold out” in a few minutes. Named at all major award ceremonies , Drake is now the king of the American music scene. While waiting to discover another of his records, note that the former One Direction Harry Styles will let himself go to an unusual interview tonight . Do not miss it! And you, what do you think of Drake?
