Bugatti Chiron : it May darken to 500 km/h thanks to the new tires ? – LesFurets.com
The supercar Bugatti Chiron is currently still limited to 420 km/h. Depending on the driver, Andy Wallace, it could cross the mark of 450 km/h thanks to the new Michelin tyres in a trial next year on the circuit of Nürburgring (Germany).
Always faster ! The Bugatti Chiron remains electronically limited to 420 km/h for technological reasons, reports Caradisiac. The pneumatic current series would be difficult for them to bear a higher speed. But the official driver of the brand, Andy Wallace, acknowledged on Monday that new tires could still increase that speed.

A model constrained to 420 km/h for safety
The Bugatti Chiron will she reach the mythical 300 miles per hour (480 km/h) ? Fans of the French brand will probably have to wait for a future model. Since the tyres remain the central element of this technological challenge, all eyes are now on the performance of the oem Michelin. The tyre manufacturer had already worked with Bugatti to develop the Veyron, sports previous produced from 2005 to 2015.
The partnership Bugatti-Michelin continues with Chiron, which remains limited to 420 km/h for safety reasons. This performance is lower than the version of Super Sport the Bugatti Veyron, which reached 435 km/h. Note that there are few places (outside of racing), where the 250 future owners of this supercar at $ 2.5 million (about € 2.2 million) could push the engine to the maximum.

No standard model has not yet reached the 500 km/h
As a reminder, the W16 8L quadriturbo of the Chiron develops 1500 horsepower for 1,600 Nm of torque. Official driver of Bugatti, the British Andy Wallace (age 56) has pointed out that the engineers did not intend to ride over 450 km/h. Currently, no tire standard would not be able to support a speed of 480 km/h. as a reminder, any vehicle produced in series is still close to 500 km/h. Only some of the rolling engines regularly exceed this speed.
Among them are the vehicles drag racing Top Fuel in the United States, able to reach speeds of 520 km/h in a few seconds. But achieving this feat, these vehicles deploy nearly 10,000 horses and use of slick tyres (or tires smooth) very special. Note, also, that these machines need a parachute for stopping, such as the fighter jets. The Bugatti Chiron does not roll in the same category… at least not yet.
