Fatal Collision in Chaudière-Appalaches: the identity of the two victims unveiled

The identity of the two women who perished in a road accident Friday afternoon in Saint-Jean-de-Brébeuf, in Chaudière-Appalaches, is now known. This is Julie Audette, 58 years old and Andree Normandin-Audette, 87, both of Sherbrooke.

Julie Audette was the driver of the vehicle involved in the collision with a pickup truck, which occurred at an intersection in the face at 550, chemin Craig, in the small municipality located near Thetford Mines.

Andree Normandin-Audette was the front passenger of the same car. The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) was not able to specify Saturday morning the relationship that could unite the two women.

According to the SQ, “the driver of the vehicle failed to make his mandatory stop, or she would not have to yield to the pickup truck. The investigation should determine that,” said Christine Coulombe, spokesperson for the police force.

First aid could do nothing to save the two occupants, while a third woman sitting on the rear bench seat has been wounded less seriously.
