“The worst thing is to hear the cries of the elderly, desperate, and putting themselves in the idea that these people have a family. If it was my parents, I would be the first to run in the residence to go to get out of there,” said Ms. Trudel to VAT New.
To 1h45, in the night from Saturday to Sunday, the mother of the family heard screaming “more strong” on the outside of her home. Opening the door, she saw the firefighters, paramedics and police officers arrive on site to rescue the elders of the residence Oasis.
“It did not take ten minutes that whole part of the roof was in flames,” said Ms. Trudel. “This is not the kind of scene that you expect to see te sunset.”
A few moments later, she tried to help by hosting some of the residents, but firefighters prevented it. Ms. Trudel had to evacuate immediately with their children because of the force of the blaze.
“You saw older people who were on their balcony, and who wanted to get out. There was even a lady who wanted to jump. A lady received a part of the roof on the body and it was burnt”, she found with impotence.
It argues that the roof had been renovated some time ago and that there was an expansion project.
