A girl of about 7 years of Témiscouata-sur-le-Lac has sustained serious injuries to his arm Monday evening when she was bitten by the dog of his neighbors.

The victim had to be transported by air-ambulance to a hospital in Quebec to undergo a surgical procedure. It does not fear for his life.

The event occurred around 18h on the Path of the Maple trees. According to the Sûreté du Québec, the girl was at the home of his neighbor, the owner of the dog, breed Boxer, when the incident occurred.

The victim was playing with his neighbor when the latter had opened the door of the residence to go inside. The Boxer would have then used the opening to sneak outside and bite the girl that was behind.

The police were called on site. The animal was caged and placed in isolation pending the recommendations of the ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food of Quebec (MAPAQ).

For the moment, it is unknown if the parents of the victim will be a complaint against the owner of the dog.
