Saint-Léonard: the acrobat injured is out of danger

MONTREAL – The acrobat who suffered serious injury following a fall during a show in the open air chinese poles on Tuesday evening, in Montreal, is out of danger, according to the direction of the Montréal complètement Cirque festival.

In a press release published in the aftermath of the accident, the direction of the festival has wanted to be reassuring. “At the time of writing these lines, it is still in the hospital under observation in a room, but we aren’t afraid for his life,” one can read in the press release.

The branch also wished to thank the citizens who took the time to send words of encouragement to the artist, who suffered a serious head injury after falling about six metres.

The accident occurred during a performance of the show “Between us” at parc Wilfrid-Bastien, in the borough of Saint-Léonard.

In the hours following the accident, doctors feared for the life of the victim.

But it seems that his health would be stabilized during the night, depending on the direction of the festival.

The circumstances surrounding the tragedy, however, were not specified, but the Committee on standards, equity, health and workplace safety has opened an investigation.

In addition, the festival’s management has indicated that it was not yet able to say whether the performances of the show “Between us” is scheduled on 13, 14, 15 and 16 July will take place or not.
