A new debate on the naked breasts in public in Ontario may have an impact on the Valcartier vacation Village (VVV), which has the Calypso waterpark, just east of Ottawa.

The reflection began with a woman’s complaint to the Court of human rights case against the City of Cornwall because the city forbids women to be topless on the premises of public swimming pools.

The regulations also prohibit women and girls from more than ten years not to wear a swimsuit, and the mayor of the place had recognized that there might be a rule which is discriminatory based on gender. Since the complaint, the lawyers are asking questions about it.

Since 1996

Women in Ontario have the right to be topless in public since 1996.

The business man Louis Massicotte, who took the reins of the Group Calypso-Valcartier, also raises legal questions. “A client at the Calypso we contacted them to find out if it was allowed. The answer is no because it is a park mainly themed for children. And she filed a complaint. We see now that it could extend to the greatness of Canada, ” he explains.

The direction of the park works are currently on eggs in this folder. The internal regulations of the water park is also a regulation not written. “It was a hot potato. We will consult the customer. “It doesn’t work”

The Group Calypso-Valcartier dream also to an appeal to ensure that the rights of women does not infringe on the right of some children. “There is a magic in us with characters for children. It doesn’t work”, concludes Mr. Massicotte.

For the moment, the park of the Village vacances Valcartier is not affected by the debate, but it could possibly be transported in Quebec.
