THREE-RIVERS | woman anorexic 29-year-old manages to live without dieting or vomiting since four years now, but has to battle all the days of his impulses food that would lead directly to self-destruction.

Marie-Eve Corriveau has agreed to tell her story to save lives. She hopes to raise awareness to youth on eating disorders. Today, it has everything a fulfilled woman, with a toddler of 22 months, his son-in-law, her wedding coming up in October, and his return to school.

At first glance, one might not suspect that behind his silhouette, slim and athletic lurk at least 20 years of fight against anorexia, and that if she now controls her dangerous behavior, his demons will follow him until the end of his days.

Every night, when she lies, she knows exactly what she is going to swallow the next day. She manages her body at a quarter turn.

There are about a dozen years, she lost her hair, her eyebrows, and her teeth had holes caused by the acidity of the vomiting.

“This mental illness has killed a big part of my life. It is as if I had been dead for 15 years. I have gone through everything, depression, anxiety disorders, suicide attempts, ” she admitted with aplomb.

10 years

She was aged only 10 years old when she experienced her first episodes of fasting and its first vomiting volunteers. She could not bear to see her body change with the approach of puberty.

She started a therapy external to 12 years at the Sainte-Justine hospital. On top of that, she suffered from bullying and isolation at school.

“Who wants to be friend with a girl who is depressed and who is vomiting ? I wasn’t happy enough for them “, she says.

In the worst moments, the teenager of 5 ‘ 1 ” weighed about 70 pounds.

In public

She never eats in front of people, even in the parties of Christmas. She swallowed a few grapes per day, and sometimes a soup to please his father, with whom she grew up.

The teenager has been in therapy and external to Sainte-Justine for six years, and then at Douglas Hospital. Each week, his father told him to do his suitcase in case she would not return to the hospital.

She began to understand she had a problem around the age of 18. “When you’re 23, 24 years of age and that you do say that you can probably never have children because your body has suffered too much, it is a nasty slap in the face,” she said.

Against all odds, she has gone up the coast and brought into the world a boy of 7 books in August 2015.

Today, it still has to work hard to control his food everyday, not to mention that she often has stomach aches and that its eyebrows have not really pushed. Do it again his teeth cost him a small fortune, not to mention those that we had to pull it out.

Mass in the throat

Experts have found a mass in the throat of Marie-Eve Corriveau, three weeks ago, which anxiety. It ignores, for the moment, if it is a cancer, and if it has a link or not with his past as an anorexic, but she is willing to do in the face of adversity.

An oto-rhino-laryngologist met this week believes that it will not have to deal with a cyst.

“The problem is that it hurts me. I don’t know where that comes from, but whatever it is, I’m going to have to be made, ” she said.

She has revived her father

Marie-Eve Corriveau was 15 years old when she revived her father, who had suffered a cardiac arrest in front of his eyes.

When her father collapsed, she went on spontaneously to beat her on the chest.

“When I typed it, I told him that he was going to survive, that he could not leave me, because I was going to die, me too,” she says.

Finally, her father came back to him.

“We all the time say that I saved his life, but he saved mine,” she said, eyes in the water.
