An attack on the cayenne pepper occurred in a subway car at the station Berri-UQAM to 6h55, Wednesday, forcing the evacuation of the station, and interrupting the service on the lines of orange, green and yellow for almost 25 minutes.

According to officers of the MCS interviewed on-site, the main suspect, who would be taken to one or more individuals, is a man in the forties. They indicated that he had been arrested, but the officer Andréanne Picard Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) denies this information.

“The man came in the subway, sprinkled pepper cayenne and fled. The surveillance cameras will eventually be seen and the suspect is still being sought,” she said.

A few moments after the train in the direction of Montmorency had been evacuated, several people were seen being choked. Paramedics, firefighters and police officers were on the spot, but according to the officers of the STM, their presence was ceremonial rather than urgent.

According to the information collected on the site of the incident, the suspect and the main victim would have played out in creole.

The service resumed at 7: 17. A few officers from the Service de sécurité incendie de Montréal remained on the spot, while the police and ambulance have left the scene.
