The Quebec superior Court ordered Hydro-Québec to stop filling the reservoir Manicouagan time to settle the dispute with the Innu of Pessamit.
Hydro-Québec and the band council of Pessamit will be in court in August to argue their case in the face of a permanent injunction.
The judgment was rendered last week by judge Serge Francoeur of the superior Court to Baie-Comeau.
The Innu council of Pessamit is of the opinion that the filling of the Manicouagan reservoir beyond the limits of the usual causes of environmental disruption and human.
For its part, the Crown corporation estimates that it manages the basin in a responsible manner, in accordance with the regulations and the authorisations in force.
