SHERBROOKE – A man allegedly linked to a network of hunters of alleged pedophiles has been arrested in Sherbrooke by the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) on Thursday morning.
William Drapeau was arrested at his home in Sherbrooke, where police officers proceeded to the seizure of his computer hardware.
Man of 27 years appeared in the afternoon and has been accused of harassment and mischief to a vehicle in respect of a man.
The latter, according to that VAT News has learned, would not have a history of crimes of a sexual nature.
Flag has also been accused of harassment and death threats against a woman.
Once again, there would be no link with crimes of a sexual nature.
He has been released subject to certain conditions.
“Anonymous Abuse Hunter”
William Flag would be part of the group on Facebook “Anonymous Abuse Hunter”, which has 529 members. These people amuseraient to track down people they see as perverts pretending to be young girls or young boys.
Videos of their speeches when they trap alleged paedophiles, circulating on YouTube.
It would seem that Mr. Drapeau used the pseudonym “Jessica Stone” to hunt for suspected paedophiles.
The SQ has taken advantage of this case to warn those who want to indulge in this kind of activity.
In a statement, the police reminded that the accumulated evidence by witnesses in this manner would not be admissible before a court.
