HAMILTON, Ontario | posters announcing theatre plays on the themes of the feminist and LGBTQ in the context of the Fringe Festival in Hamilton, Ontario, have been vandalized in recent days.

The organizers of the festival, which began on Thursday and will take place again throughout the week have put a photo on Twitter of one of the posters referred to on which have been pasted passages from the bible condemning homosexuality and the independence of women.

At least two plays would thus have been referred to.

The one whose poster vandalized has been put on Twitter by the organizers of the festival is “SCUM: A Manifesto,” – a production of the scantily clad Glad Theatre of Saskatoon – who wants to be “a look into the mind” of Valerie Solanas, the radical feminist who tried to kill the american artist Andy Warhol in 1968.

Posters of the piece “Coal From Hades / The Story of Flies Fantastic” Canton/Peterson Productions, a theatre company from Toronto dedicated to the movement, LGBTQ, have also been vandalized.
