A young man from Cacouna, in Bas-Saint-Laurent, has suffered serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in the night from Friday to Saturday in Quebec city.

The at-fault driver has fled following the impact.

Jeff Gendron walked with a friend on the sidewalk on the Way to St. Louis around 2: 00 am when a car was struck violently.

The young man of 25 years was projected into the air. “It happened very quickly. The vehicle was hit on his knee and his hip. He even lost his shoes,” says his sister.

He was unconscious when he was transported to the hospital Child Jesus. His life is not in danger, but he suffered a serious head injury. Jeff Gendron was able to leave Sunday the intensive care unit. Given the pain, he receives a strong medication.

The sister of the victim has launched a message on the social networks to find the fugitive.

The vehicle responsible was white and his rear-view mirror on the right side is torn off.

“Why has he deviated from his route like that, for colliding with a pedestrian on the sidewalk? More importantly, why he was not arrested? Was he under the influence of alcohol?”, inquired the young woman.

The Service de police de la Ville de Québec (SPVQ) is conducting an investigation. Marie-Pier Gendron request to open the eye and contact the police if you see this vehicle or if you have any information.
