Gatineau: police are investigating a possible case of aggression in a nursery

GATINEAU – Gatineau police opened an investigation into a possible case of brutality in a child care centre in the Aylmer sector.

On Monday, parents received a call from the establishment telling them that their little girl of 11 months had been bitten by another child. Once on site, they realized that she would have rather suffered multiple bruises, scratches and bruises.

Parents are immediately referred to the Hospital in Hull, but the little girl was then rapidly transported to Hospital in Gatineau. The small victim was hospitalized for several days.

According to the explanations given to the parents by the owner of the daycare, another young boy of 2 years would violently beat the baby during naps.

The police are now trying to determine if the children were left unattended and for how long this alleged assault would have taken place.

“There are several steps to take, explained Andrée East, publicist at the police Department of the City of Gatineau. Is it that there is a fault that has been committed at the level of daycare or not? It is not really rendering at that point.”

Ms. East maintains that the investigators will proceed “step by step”.

“However, we can assure the public that we take the matter seriously, that there is an investigation that is open and that there are checks that will be performed to try to validate some of the facts and go see what happened exactly”, she added.

The owner of the centre has refused to share his version of the facts with VAT New.

As for the parents of the girl, they did not want to give interview to the camera, but they wanted to still share their story to prevent another child suffering the same fate.
