As a result of a STROKE

The son of the ex-minister, Sébastien Daoust, had confirmed to our Office of investigation, on the 25th of July last, that her father had suffered a serious stroke.

Jacques Daoust, introduced himself in politics as a liberal in 2014 in the district of Verdun. He has held the post of minister of Economy, Innovation and Export trade, and minister of Transport from January 2016.

As minister of Transport, he has had to deal with the difficult issue of Uber in the taxi industry.

He resigned in August 2016 in the wake of a controversy surrounding the sale of shares of Rona by Investissement Québec.

He had previously held the position of president and chief executive officer of Investissement Québec, from 2006 to 2013.

Mr. Daoust and his son had embarked, in 2012, in a project of winery in Hemmingford. Jacques Daoust will ultimately never had the chance to participate in the marketing of the first bottles of the Vineyards of the Bacchae.

“He has not finished his political project, but he would have liked to finish his project to wine,” said his son, Sébastien Daoust, on the waves of RDI.
