MAGOG – A major police chase began shortly after midnight, on the night of Wednesday to Thursday, on highway 10, at the height of Magog.
The police officers of the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) have intercepted a driver of a 34-year-old was travelling at over 130 km/h.
The latter would have to comply with the interception by police, but it is at the time when the patrol boats approached on foot the vehicle that the driver would have fled, triggering a police chase out of nearly 60 kilometres.
Patrol of the MRC Haute-Yamaska and Rouville were called in to help put an end to the pursuit.
“It’s wanting to work around the carpet with nails placed on the highway at the height of the Angel-Keeper that the driver would have lost control of his vehicle before ending his race in the ditch,” explained the spokesperson for the SQ, in the eastern Townships, Aurélie Guindon.
The 34 year old male was transported by preventive measures at the Centre hospitalier de Granby.
Charges of dangerous driving and assault with a weapon should be filed at the place of the driver. He was scheduled to appear at the courthouse in Granby.
No person has been injured in this police chase.
