Passed away last Friday, Maurice Filion was exposed Thursday in Quebec city, where many people came to greet the one who has marked the history of hockey in Quebec.
Integrity, class and pride were the three words that came back most often to describe the deceased.
The former owner of the teams of the QMJHL Léo-Guy Morrissette has confessed that he had a great respect for the one who has been prefect of discipline in the circuit Courteau. “This is one of the great men of hockey that I have known. He was always available,” he explained.
Martin Madden had also good words for the place of Filion, whom he succeeded as general manager of the Nordiques in 1988. “The guy told you one thing and it was the same thing 24 hours later or 10 years later.”
The funeral of Maurice Filion will be celebrated Friday at 11am at the church of Sainte-Cecile de Charlesbourg.
