MONTREAL – the police officers of The police Department of the City of Montreal had erected a large security perimeter in the vicinity of the mont-Royal a little before 22 a.m. Monday when a 56 year old man was the victim of armed aggression.
The man was walking in the trails of parc du mont Royal in the company of his son, 31-year-old when, suddenly, the suspect appeared in front of him to blind him with a flashlight before the stab to the upper body.
The victim was transported to a hospital. “The man was conscious and was talking with police officers before heading to a hospital”, first stated Benedict Boisselle, a spokesperson for the SPVM.
Once arrived at the hospital, the state of health of the fifty-year-old would have deteriorated and he would be in a state deemed critical by the doctors.
All access to the park mont Royal were closed and the canine joined the police to try to locate the suspect. “All the exits and entrances to the park are checked by the police to ensure that the suspect has not left the scene,” added Benedict Boisselle.
