This Friday, August 18, at noon, a minute of silence has been observed on the place of Catalonia in the presence of king Felipe VI, a few hours after the double bombing that hit the city and its region, killing at least 14 people dead.
Place of Catalonia on Friday, August 18, at noon, the king Felipe VI of Spain, Mariano Rajoy (president of the government), Carles Puigdemont (president of the Generalitat of Catalonia, spain) and Ada Colau (mayor of Barcelona) were in the first range ofa crowd, come to observe one minute in tribute to the victims of the terrorist attack of La Rambla.
The night before by the end of the afternoon, a van rammed into the crowd on the artery is the more touristic of Barcelona, killing at least thirteen people dead and over a hundred injured. A few hours later, a car rammed a second time into the crowd in the town of Cambrils, just a few hundred kilometers south of Barcelona. A woman has died of his injuries Friday at mid-day. The attack was claimed by the organization, the jihadist islamic State. Since then, the tributes are multiplying in France and in the United States, particularly via social networks.
The minute of silence was preceded by the minute of applause. The crowd chanted,” No tinc por, no tinc por”, which means : “We are not afraid” in Catalan.
