THREE-RIVERS – A lady of Three Rivers has made a discovery shocking Saturday in a container of chicken broth brand Great Value, the house brand of Walmart. The surprise, as disgusting as smelly, has not yet been identified.
“Me, I thought it was a mouse rotting. My grandson thought it was a frog and the neighboring fetus,” said Lynda Leblond, still upset by his discovery.
More than a week after having used part of the broth, Ms. Leblond decides that it is not enough to keep it. By emptying into the sink, she found that something mouth opening. She released the container to the outside and ripping up with a garden tool.
“I thought losing the card”, she told.
Ms. Leblond has filed a complaint with Walmart, who is still trying to understand what happened with the supplier.
For Sylvain Charlebois, dean of the Faculty of Management and Agriculture of Dalhousie university, the person in charge, this is the store.
“It is up to Walmart to respond to customer questions. The manufacturer can hide behind the distributor, but the distributor may not hide behind the manufacturer,” he explained.
For Mrs. Leblond, inspectors from the ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food of Quebec (MAPAQ) should pick up “the thing” at her home here Thursday.
