“Since a few days, we try to see what will be the federal compensation for these guests of Justin Trudeau […] for me, it is the federal government who should pay for,” said Mr. Lisée in a press briefing Monday.

Mr. Lisée believes that these migrants who cross the u.s. border and who are mostly of haitian descent have been invited by Justin Trudeau. “He sent them a “tweet” saying to all the persecuted of the world: “Welcome to Canada.””, a-t-he explained. The leader of the parti québecois target as Philippe Couillard, as he should have in his rush to condemn the “irresponsible statements from Justin Trudeau”.

The electoral gains for the CAQ

François Legault believes even be able to make electoral gains on this issue, due to the popular discontent against the poor management of this “irregular immigration”. “I think we can win in Louis-Hébert. This is not the county the most easy-to-Quebec. But in the current situation of discontent because of what happened with the illegal immigration, I think it is possible”, has launched the chief caquiste Monday at the entrance to the caucus présessionnel of his party, in Shawinigan.

The residents of Louis-Hébert, an electoral district located in Quebec, are not directly affected by the wave of refugees arriving in the United States. Mr. Legault believes, however, that he can get electoral gain. “People in Quebec are upset […] They know very well that we can’t continue to accept 1000 migrants more per week”, he lamented.

“I understand that we can not say that these are illegal immigrants, but they enter illegally. Mr. Couillard must say loud and clear to these immigrants that if they can’t prove that their life is in danger, we won’t accept them”, he said during a media scrum.

Unfortunate and disturbing, according to Couillard

The prime minister Philippe Couillard, who is located in Charlottetown in the province of Île-du-Prince-Édouard, has responded by denouncing the remarks of his opponents. It is estimated that Quebec must pay the school for the children of refugees and to pay a cheque in aid of last resort and that he made his accounts later. “Is it that Quebecers would be acceptable to leave small children without a school? I think not. Is it that they would find acceptable so that it always has done, he doesn’t give a little financial help to people?”, a-t-launched it. It considers the choice of words, Mr. Lisée “unfortunate”.

As for François Legault, he believes that there is “a little alarming” that the head caquiste think make political gains with this question.
