The federal government announced Tuesday morning a bonus of$ 4,000 and an increase in the price of overtime work for the human resources specialists responsible for resolving the fiasco of the pay system Phoenix.
This boost to compensation advisors is part of the government’s plan for the resolution of all the problems of pay in the public service. It will be funded from the$ 142 Million announced in may to repair Phoenix.
“Compensation advisors continue to work diligently to respond to requests to pay, but it takes more expertise and support to address the backlog of these requests, and implement the collective agreements signed recently,” said the president of the Treasury Board Scott Brison, in a press release Tuesday.
In addition to a “single payment” of$ 4,000, each compensation advisor will have his or her overtime hours be compensated at double time instead of time and one-half.
Worse
This announcement comes shortly after the publication of data demonstrating the worsening of the problems of pay of federal employees in August.
9 000 actions required in the records of pay of employees have been added to the list of already endless folders in waiting, bringing the number to 237 000. An employee may have multiple transactions late.
It is estimated that a public servant on two would have problems paying due to the fiasco of the system in Phoenix, a year and a half after its implementation.
It is especially important to those who cope with a change of status which make the costs since the software is slow to update their status, or makes a mistake in doing so.
The payroll Centre based in Miramichi, New Brunswick, is so far incapable of resolving the problems of pay as fast as new ones are created.
