Free Service on the suburban train line to Candiac

MONTREAL | users of the suburban train line Montreal-Candiac will be able to travel free of charge as early as Monday because of the ongoing work in the heat exchanger Saint-Pierre.
Friday, the department of Transportation has announced the closure of the left lane on route 138 in direction is in the heat exchanger due to “the discovery of more extensive damage than anticipated during the repair of a pile of the bridge over the Lachine canal”. The road should reopen by the end of next week.
In the meantime, the metropolitan transit system (RTM) invites motorists to swap their car against the train.
In addition to offering the service for free, the RTM will add cars to the majority of its trains and to restore service temporarily to the cars on two floors.
For their part, the citizens of the region of Châteauguay will be able to borrow a free bus that will shuttle between the incentive parking in Châteauguay and the train station Sainte-Catherine. Of the additional buses are also expected on the roads on a regular basis.
