It is the day of the cabinet reshuffle in Quebec city, while the prime minister Philippe Couillard has presented the new version – rejuvenated – his cabinet.

Here’s what you need to know about the new faces that have joined the Council of ministers, on Wednesday.

• Member of parliament for Pontiac

Minister of Transport, sustainable Mobility and the Electrification of transport

#1 Born in Quyon on December 12, 1981 (35 years).

#2 Married to Marlene Floyd. The father of two children: Maëlle and Élodie.

#3 He holds a bachelor’s degree in commercial sciences and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Ottawa.

#4 From 2004 to 2005, he was press secretary of John Lapierre, while he was minister of Transport of Canada, and officer of the media at the prime minister’s office (2005-2006).

#5 Before entering politics, he served as director of government relations at TELUS (2013-2014).

#6 He was elected in the general election held April 7, 2014.

Minister for Transport

#1 Born on 27 January 1974 (aged 43).

#2 In a couple with Luc Grenier. The mother of two children.

#3 Graduate program of college studies in Arts and media technology at the Cégep de Jonquière.

#4 She has worked as a journalist, head of the antenna and head of desk, including TVA and LCN (Chicoutimi and Montreal), TQS (Quebec) and, most recently, FM93 (Quebec).

#5 She was also a columnist and blogger at the Journal de Québec.

#6 She has been elected at the election of Chauveau June 8, 2015.

Minister responsible for the Protection and Promotion of the French language

#1 Born August 6, 1979 (38 years old).

#2 She holds a master’s degree in environmental science, specializing in environmental health from the University of Quebec in Montreal and a Diploma of specialized higher studies in management HEC Montréal.•

#3 She is a graduate of the bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Montreal and holds a Certificate Winner II, studies in piano and singing from the School of music Vincent-d’indy.

#4 She has many years of experience in the field of health and social services including as a consultant to the direction of the physician workforce to the ministry of Health and social Services (2014), and the Fédération des médecins residents du Québec (2003-2012). She held similar positions in the Network of research collaboration in long-term care, the Institute of medical research, Lady Davis Centre for clinical epidemiology and public health research of the jewish general Hospital of Montreal (2000 to 2003).

#5 She was the president of the Commission national policy of the Quebec liberal Party from 2012 to 2014.

#6 She was elected at the general elections of 2014.

Minister responsible for the Protection and Promotion of the French language

#1 Born June 26, 1974 (age 43)

#2 Holds a Bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Montreal

#3 She was director of communications of the Quebec liberal Party from 2005 to 2007.

#4 It has, subsequently, worked as the executive director of communications and institutional relations at the Société de développement des entreprises culturelles (SODEC).

#5 Before entering politics, she was director of cabinet of Helen David at the ministry of Culture and Communications, and then to higher Education.

#6 She has been elected at the election held on December 5, 2016.

Filomena Rotiroti

#1 Born may 17, 1974 (age 43)

#2 She has completed studies in political science at Concordia University.

#3 Liberal of long standing, she was coordinator of the party for the cultural communities (1995-1998), and then attached policy from 1998 to 2002 and from 2005 to 2007.

#4 She has worked as the director of cabinet of the minister of Immigration and cultural Communities (2005-2007) and as director of western Québec (2007).

#5 She is also involved within the party as a co-ordinator for the east of Montreal (2002-2003) and as an organizer during the general elections of 2003.

#6 Elected in the general election of April 7, 2014.
