Archaeological team Clwydian Range (CRAG), which is conducting excavations on the site of bronze age settlement in the United Kingdom, have discovered an unusual collection of stone tools that differ from those found previously.

Collection age of about 4,500 years ago and consists of approximately 20 triangular hand tools of different sizes. It was discovered in the summer on the bottom of the old Creek in the Clwydian mountain chain in Wales.

Ian Brooks, an archaeologist and consultant CRAG, told Live Science that discovered tools are not like anything previously found in the area. “I’ve never seen anything like it. I have spoken with many colleagues and they, too, have never seen anything similar,” he said.

According to Brooks, the tools, size from 50 to 220 mm, there is a roughly cut stones of limestone, which are exacerbated especially. “All of them have one distinctive feature – the pointy end, which is damaged. This suggests that the tools are actively used,” – explains the archaeologist.

Although scientists are not sure why these tools have been used, but I think that with their help it was applied to rock paintings.
