    The inspectors have submitted the restaurant Our Teas in the city centre of Montreal for an intensive cleaning in the last year after having seen a poor general places.

    “I saw that the floor of the cold room was filthy and I found dirt on the entire floor. The boilers were directly on the [ground] and were visibly dirty, ” said one of the inspectors in his report after a visit to the trade in 2016.

    Raw meat had been stored in garbage bags in the freezer in the basement, have noted the agents during a previous inspection.

    The restaurant from taiwan located at 1609 rue Sainte-Catherine West was fined $ 800 for dirt, and another $ 1,000 for various violations related to the conservation of foods on 21 July.

    Great cleaning

    However, a few months later, the inspectors found that the premises were still in a mess.

    “The storage bin of utensils was dusty and was based on a tablet that had traces of mold, fat and dirt “, one can read in the report.

    In the kitchen, some storage spaces for food were covered in dust and accumulations of fat.

    “The rice cooker stored on the floor had dirt on the cover. A tray containing glasses was covered with black spots “, adds it.

    Food preservation

    Apart from the unhygienic conditions of the premises, the officers have also noted poor practices of food preservation.

    Beef, raw chicken, eggs, as well as imperial rolls and pork were at room temperature and did not meet the standards of the ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food in terms of internal temperature.

    The owner, Chin-Yin Tai, said to the Newspaper that all of the floors of the kitchen have been changed since, and that trade now meets the highest standards of cleanliness.

    Ms. Tai has another restaurant of the same name in 1215, Sainte-Catherine East.
