Agricultural producers consider inadmissible the request of the United States to abolish the management of the offer on milk, eggs, and poultry, a view which is not shared by economic experts.
“What was proposed in the U.s. is simply unacceptable, not just for producers but for all Canadians,” protested the general president of the Union des producteurs agricoles du Québec, Marcel Groleau.
Washington claims that Canada abandoned within 10 years, all of its protections to producers of milk, eggs and poultry, have informed the sources close to the renegotiation of the free trade Agreement north american (NAFTA).
Like many, Groleau believes that the Americans are trying to bring the discussion into a cul-de-sac to withdraw more easily from the Agreement.
