OTTAWA-Health Canada is expanding a recall of dishwashers with power cords that could overheat and, therefore, cause a fire.
The devices covered by this notice are of brand BOSCH, Thermador, Gaggenau, Jenn-Air and Kenmore and have been sold from January 2013 until may 2015. “Dishwashers are certified by the ULC, and carry the file number E103022,” says the government agency.
According to Health Canada, 61 000 affected products were sold in Canada, but as of Monday, no incidents regarding this issue has been reported to the manufacturer, BSH Home Appliances Corporation.
All those who own one of these dishwashers should absolutely stop using it. A hotline has been put in place to inspect and repair free of charge their device.
For more information, consumers may contact the company toll-free at 1-888-965-5813, 8 a.m. to 20 p.m. (EST) Monday to Sunday,” says Health Canada.
