QUEBEC | The Commission of human rights and droits de la jeunesse (CDPDJ) will continue its investigation of the systemic discrimination and racism, although the government Couillard has decided to put a cross on the project.

“The Commission believes that the systemic discrimination and racism […] remain within the quebec society,” explained the CDPDJ, by press release, to justify the need to continue the work.

According to the Commission, this new formula neglects the problems that “continue to engage the quebec population as a whole”.

The new minister of Immigration, Diversity and Inclusion, David Heurtel, announced on Thursday that it turned to the consultation on the discrimination and systemic racism, that flew the CDPDJ, in a forum on the employment and integration.

The CDPDJ has always the intention to formulate recommendations to the government with a view to the adoption of legislation or of legislative and regulatory changes.

The deceased consultation on systemic discrimination and racism had attracted many critics in recent months, particularly on the part of the opposition who saw in it the trial of the Québécois.

The office of the minister Heurtel had not responded to the announcement of the CDPDJ at the time of publishing these lines in the middle of the afternoon on Friday.
