David Hallyday, born of the union highly publicized between Johnny Hallyday and Sylvie Vartan has suffered in his childhood from the absence of his father, consumed by his career. But the two singers, brought together by their common passion, have resumed around the music, including collaborating on the album Blood for Blood.

The absence of a father. Johnny Hallyday suffered terribly and he has spoken several times on the abandonment by his father, Léon Smet while he was still a baby. Has the birth of his son, David, in 1966, of his union with Sylvie Vartan, the career of Johnny Hallyday is in full swing. Tours in the recordings, it will also be an absent father, thus reproducing a little scheme of his own father, as explained by his biographer, Gilles Lhote, author of Johnny, the warrior, released last November 30.

An absence that has marked his son, David, who, last march, told the Figaro have “spent too little moments” with his father. “The few moments that you can spend […] I recognise this as the time saved for always,” then the singer, 51-year-old. It has as well been present at the bedside of his father at the sides of Laeticia, “the last woman of the life” of the idol of young people. Sharing the same passion for the music and more specifically rock’n’roll, the two singers have collaborated on the album blood to Blood in 1999, a way to make up for lost time and to re-establish bonds between a father and his son.

Father to his lap, David Hallyday in a relationship is very symbiotic with his youngest son, Cameron, but also with his two daughters, Ilona and Emma, born from her previous marriage with Estelle Lefebure. It is with discretion that he responded to the death of Johnny Hallyday, through a joint statement with his sister Laura.
