    Depression is an evil unknown in adolescents. At least that is what believes Samantha Foy, a young woman whose experience is pretty ordinary.

    Samantha wants to use her journey of life difficult, in order to help more teens as possible, by launching the campaign “Understanding depression”.

    At age 14, Samantha Foy has made a major depression, a result of very difficult events in his personal life.

    During this dark period, she made several suicide attempts and had to be hospitalized. She has also been a victim of violence in a relationship is toxic, unhealthy, along with her boyfriend of the time.

    When his psychiatrist told him that it was in the depression, the teenage girl fell from the skies.

    “For me, a depression that was “you’re not going well, you take drugs”. I quickly realized that this is not only the drugs that could help me,” said the young woman in interview at 9 a.m. with Jean-François Guérin.

    Several years have passed since this difficult episode, and Samantha has done research on the subject.

    Today, at 17 years old, she refuses to dream about her past and wants to raise awareness of young people on these issues that several of them live.

    According to her, the topic of depression is very taboo, and is not addressed in schools.

    “Anyone can be in depression, there is no criteria”, she adds.

    She wants to produce educational materials to raise the awareness of young people and reach them in schools, where she also wants to give lectures.
