Murder of a baby: a young accused “sincerely sorry”

SASKATOON | A young woman who has killed an infant of just six weeks in Saskatchewan, there are close to 18 months will be in February of the sentence it will have to be served for this crime, and the court is to first determine if she will be tried as an adult or a minor.

Friday, who is now 18-year-old has apologised to the family, reported Global News.

“I’m sorry for the family, for the community,” she said in court, during the observation on the sentence.

“I am sincerely sorry for what I did. I just hope that I won’t have to relive this,” she indicated in the box of the accused, in a hearing room in Saskatoon.

In July 2016, when she was 16 years old, and the teenager had fled a detention centre for young people. She then fell to the knowledge of the family of the baby, and, as she had nowhere to go, she was invited to go to sleep in them. During the night, she would have strangled and beaten to death the baby.

“I cry every day when I wake up. I cry every day when I go to bed,” said Jeffery Longman, great-grandfather of Nikosis Jace Creel, who was barely six weeks at the time of the tragedy.

“It is really difficult to know that we have lost so tragic,” he continued, according to Global News.

According to the testimonies presented during the trial, the young woman has a history of violence, she was recognized to attack other young people at the detention centre and members of the staff. It would also have maimed the living animals.

His lawyer was presented as a young woman presenting with cognitive impairment to severe, indicating that she was diagnosed with a spectrum disorder fetal alcohol spectrum disorder.
