MONTREAL | cyclists and pedestrians have demonstrated Saturday to demand the opening of the multipurpose path and sidewalk of the pont Jacques-Cartier throughout the year, even in the winter.

Forty protesters gathered around 10 a.m. at the entrance of the track on the side of Montreal, according to organizers. They were holding placards on which one could read “ride to Work all year round”, “The bridge to cyclists” and “Why block the way for runners and cyclists”.

The event was organised by the Association of pedestrian and cyclists of the Jacques-Cartier bridge (APC-PJC) in collaboration with the Coalition Vélo Montréal.
