Air Canada inaugurates its first direct link to South America from Montreal

    The carrier Air Canada has launched, Sunday, a new link between Montreal and Lima, the capital of Peru. It is the first line non-stop service between Montreal and the South America for the company.

    In a press release, Air Canada said the launch of this new service, stating that Lima is the first destination for travellers who leaves Montreal to South America. “[The new route] will provide to our customers in the canadian provinces of Quebec and the Atlantic traveling for business or pleasure, even as to freight forwarders, air freight, convenient access to Peru,” said Air Canada.

    This new service, provided by a device 767-300ER aircraft, including 282 seats, is offered at the rate of two flights and two return flights per week.

    The line Montreal-Lima complete a busy year for Air Canada, which has added seven more destinations to its range of offerings from Montreal, to Shanghai, Marseilles, Dallas, Washington, Reykjavik, Tel Aviv and Algiers.

    Eight new routes will be added to this selection in 2018 for the montreal voyageurs, who will be able to fly to Victoria (C.-B.), Tokyo, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Dublin, Lisbon and Bucharest.

    “This last link completes a year of exceptional growth of the Montréal-Trudeau airport […] over The past five years, Air Canada has increased its capacity from Montreal to 83 % and added 29 new destinations,” stressed Benjamin Smith, president – passenger Carrier Air Canada, by press release.
