The snow removal from the streets of Montreal will begin on Tuesday at 19h, announced the Town on Monday.
The authorities intend to prioritize the hospitals, access to public transport networks and the large arteries during the collection of some 25 centimeters of snow that have fallen since Saturday.
“As early as Tuesday, 19 hours, close to 2 200 vehicles of snow removal will begin loading over 10 000 km of streets and sidewalks. The transport and disposal of this accumulated snow will make travel easier to the approach of the festivities of the new year,” said the City press release, Monday.
This is the second load operation since the beginning of the season.
Motorists are asked to respect the signage for the parking lot for snow removal, recalled the City.
Monday, the snow from the streets and highways in the montreal area has been cleared.
Ridership is lower in the road network on Monday contributed to this work. Caution remained, however, for motorists, according to the Sûreté du Québec.
“It will be necessary to keep the safe distance, slow down and avoid overtaking reckless,” said Ann Mathieu, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec. When you follow the vehicles for the removal of snow, keep a greater distance because there is sometimes a mist of snow that occur.”
The sun will return on Tuesday, but the snow will give way to polar temperatures for the rest of the week.
