The report noted that, despite the fact that NASA called Galileo burned at the end of 90-ies, he still managed to help scientists to uncover the many mysteries of the planet IO. After analyzing the data from its NIMS (infrared spectrometry), the researchers were able to learn that on Jupiter the constant changes in climate, leading to new powerful eruptions. As it turned out, the last such phenomenon was relatively recent, but his power exceeded previous eruption was 5 times. At the same time, a minute later, power was reduced by 20%, and a minute later another 75%. After such jumps, the violence of the eruption returned on the same level.

Researchers believe that the reason was the volcano, which lies in the depths of IO. Interestingly, the diameter of the planet is not more than 3.7 thousand kilometers.
