The water temperature in the oceans can be accurately measured with a noble gas, reports Rus.Media. Such conclusion was made by scientists from California.

A group of scientists from the University of California came to the conclusion that the temperature of the water in the depths of the oceans can be measured, using the noble gases krypton and argon. Experts say that the activity of the noble gases krypton and argon depends on the temperature of the water. The higher the heat, the more noticeable the activity of the gas.

So the scientists used this technique to determine the exact temperature in the depths of the oceans. After the last measurements, it became clear that the water in the ocean has become warmer by 2.5 degrees than in the era of the ice age. The number on the thermometer corresponds to 3.5 degrees, which is very alarmed researchers.
