Oshawa: the human remains discovered are those of a missing 18-year-old

OSHAWA, Ontario and The Durham regional police has finally identified the body of the woman discovered a suspicious package at the end of December, in a residence in Oshawa, Ontario.

The victim has been identified as Rori Axe, 18 years old, whose torso had already been found in lake Ontario last September. The disappearance of the teenager had been reported on 29 August. His torso was discovered by a fisherman near the port of the city.

On December 29, the police discovered in an apartment in Oshawa the human remains of a woman and a suspicious package. A special unit had to be dispatched to neutralize this package.

A 45 year-old male was arrested in relation to this discovery. The suspect, Adam Jeffrey Strong, has been accused of libel or indecency with a dead body.

It is not known whether he will face additional charges or if there is a link between the accused and the victim.

In detention, he is required to appear before the tribunal, on 10 January, according to Global News.

This is the eighth murder of the year in the Durham region
