LA MALBAIE | La Malbaie will host the G7 summit in the month of June, and, at five months of this event far-reaching political, preparations are well underway around the Manoir Richelieu.

The installation of a security fence around the establishment of Charlevoix, will host the greatest political leaders the world, is already well advanced. The work started just before Christmas and could continue until the month of June.

This barrier mesh, over two metres in height, will obstruct roads and some important access. There will be openings in certain locations in order to pass the dignitaries.

This is the Group Fortin, Alma, who has obtained the mandate of the erection of the fence, a contract for approximately $ 3.8 million. After the event, it is estimated that it will take about a month to uninstall.

An accreditation card will also be provided to all the citizens of Charlevoix, in order to identify them as residents of the region to security controls during the event.

“Every citizen will be able to be accredited to do the things he needs, to move on the territory”, explained the director general of the municipality of La Malbaie, Caroline Tremblay, VAT New.

“It is an obligation that we will all need to undergo as a citizen. […] It is a process that aims to reassure us about the people who will be present.”
