Terrorist attack in Edmonton: a suspect fit to stand trial

    EDMONTON – An alleged sympathizer of the armed group islamic State (EI) has been deemed fit to stand trial in Edmonton, Alberta.

    Abdulahi Hasan Sharif, a somali refugee, 30 years, is accused of having a dark over four pedestrians with a rental truck and attempting to kill a police officer in the happant and the stabbing in September, near the stadium the Commonwealth.

    All of the victims of the attack, survived their injuries.

    Another evaluation of the suspect must determine whether it may or may not be held criminally responsible, reported on Friday on Global News.

    Hasan Sharif is facing 11 charges, including attempted murder, dangerous driving causing injury, hit-and-run causing injury and possession of a weapon.

    He will be back in court on February 12.
