Quebec will inject as soon as next summer 740 million $ to renovate the nearly 1,300 schools across the province.
In total, 2071 renovation projects will be carried out during the construction season of the summer of 2018.
The renovation of the school infrastructure may include the upgrading of buildings, repair of roofs, replacement of doors, and the improvement of the system of heating, ventilation, or plumbing, said the government Couillard.
Nearly 40 % of this amount, $ 287 million, will be devoted exclusively to the schools of the Commission scolaire de Montréal, which particularly needs to be refreshed.
In addition, an amount outstanding of $ 15 million is put today at the disposal of all school boards for the implementation of urgent work.
These investments are part of the québec infrastructures plan 2017-2027, unveiled last march.
