The twinning project, which allows small merchants in the neighborhood of Côte-des-Neiges to learn French at their place of work thanks to the help of students, has been extended to two other districts of Montreal.
This was announced by the minister of Culture, Marie Montpetit, Friday, in the company of Michel Leblanc, president of the board of trade of metropolitan Montreal.
The latter also believes that the “success” of the pilot project of the last year could be small and result in a “generalization” of the twinning as an avenue of francization in the small-scale traders allophones in Quebec.
