The weather will be mild Saturday, then the temperature will be at or above the freezing point in most of the regions of Quebec. The weather will spoil, however, from Monday evening, while a new winter storm is expected.
In Montreal, the mercury could reach 3 degrees during the day, under a cloudy sky. The night from Saturday to Sunday is likely to be more cold, with a minimum of -7 degrees. Some snow showers are expected in the evening and the night from Saturday to Sunday.
The temperature will also be lenient in the whole of Québec, on or above the freezing point, with the exception of Rouyn-Noranda (maximum -1), Gaspé (maximum of -4) and the Seven-Islands (maximum of -9). These three cities should also receive 5 to 10 inches of snow during the day.
Environment Canada has, however, issued a warning of a winter storm for the south-west, central and eastern Quebec starting Monday evening. Significant amounts of snow are expected and will cause blowing snow due to strong winds.
From Tuesday, the snow could change to freezing rain or rain on the extreme south of the province. Environment Canada is advising motorists to anticipate or delay any non-essential movement.
