Montréal is launching a call for tenders to refurbish the edifice Lucien-Saulnier

MONTREAL | The Lucien-Saulnier building will be renovated during the year to accommodate employees and elected officials of the metropolis during the major work that will be undertaken at the Montreal city hall beginning in the summer of 2019.

Neighbour of the hotel de ville, Notre-Dame street East, the Lucien-Saulnier building will host the city council, the executive committee, and municipal employees, has been provided by press release.

A tender has just been launched in regards to the development necessary to the Lucien-Saulnier building.

As to the renovations of the town hall, a heritage building listed, they will aim to make it a “public building modern and sustainable”. Built from 1872 to 1878, the town hall had to be rebuilt from 1922 to 1926 after a fire.

The work of three years, valued at almost $ 88 million, according to what was “The Duty” in September last, will include the heritage restoration interior and exterior of the building as well as upgrading of the electromechanical installations and fire safety. The bill of about $ 90 million will also include the development costs of the Lucien-Saulnier building.

The City hopes to achieve LEED V4 GOLD level for its city hall.
