GATINEAU – A banal call for a suspicious male has led to the arrest of a fugitive wanted for nearly 20 years, Monday night in Gatineau.

Norman Max Rosenblum, 65, was pinned by the police to 19 h, so that it was near the hospital of Hull.

He was wanted since 1999 under a warrant for arrest canada-wide.

During the 90s, Rosenblum had been charged in a case of import of 558 kilograms of cocaine.

The authorities suspected that Norman Max Rosenblum of plotting with big names of the mafia in montreal, Frank Cotroni and Vito Rizzuto.

When he was arrested by the police on Monday evening, Rosenblum would have mentioned to the officers that he was returned to Quebec in the course of the last year after having stayed outside the country for some time.

The suspect has been handed over to federal authorities for follow-up procedures.
